Upper Playground in association with FIFTY24SF Gallery is pleased to announce Creature Comforts, new paintings and screen prints by San Francisco artist, Dora Drimalas. Her simple and iconic work disguises the stories hidden underneath, from simple relationship-based iconography to layered worlds of cute critters, there is always more involved than simply meets the eye. While the majority of her work may be rendered in black and white, the meanings and stories woven into it rarely are. Her prints let the viewer interpret their own tales about the lives contained within, leading the viewer to their answer, but never spelling it out for them.
Dora Drimalas is a principle of Hybrid-Design in San Francisco along with her husband, Brian Flynn. She also designs for her houseware line, Hybrid-Home, and is co-owner of Super7 in San Francisco. Drimalas has worked on designs for Nike, Starwood Hotels, Upper Playground, and Vans and has exhibited her artwork in San Francisco, Portland, New York and Spain.
