puka puka

I stumbled across this site looking for a new mobile for our home. We already have at least 5 hanging, but I found a new spot and need yet another. Heck, even my son is named after the kinetic artist Alexander Calder. Check out the Australian company Puka Puka for some really cool mobiles. They'll make you happy.

Dirt

If you love succulents, flowers, cactus, air plants, and recycled materials and happen to live in Dallas you have to check out Dirt in Oakcliff. One of the owners, Sonya, describes her style as "modern vintage with an artsy edge." I wanted everything, but ended up bringing home a pencil cactus and aloe plant. Check it out!

japanese style

I was recently in NYC for work. I didn't have a lot of time to shop, but I always find a couple of hours to visit my two favorite Japanese retailers, 45rpm and Uniqlo. Uniqlo is the Japanese version of Top Shop or H&M. Lots of basics at really great prices and the best part is the Japanese cuts and styles. 45rpm, on the other hand, is very expensive and very unique. It's safe to say that you won't see many people walking around with the same shirt on. Neither shops are great for online shopping, so the next time you are in NYC be sure to check them out.

new bags!

First of all, I have decided to stop the laziness and start writing with capital letters again. I know the all lowercase style drives some people absolutely nuts. Second of all, I love bags. Here are the 3 latest additions to my wardrobe. The polka dot fuzzy bag is from Madewell. My husband picked it out for me and his sister got me the painter tote from Anthropologie. I recently got back from NYC and this fabulous black bag came back with me. Check out the Canadian brand M0851. They have beautiful scarves, leather jackets, wallets and bags.
