freitag bags and successories

while in new york this week i was reminded of one of my favorite brands: freitag. two swiss brothers and graphic designers created their first messenger bag in 1993. every bag is made from recycled truck tarps, seatbelts, airbags and bicycle inner tubes. not only are they waterproof and heavy duty, they are very unique. stop by their website here.

5inch

im a big fan of the mix cd. most of the time i just can't listen to one artist for 50 minutes (with a quite a few exceptions of course). anyhow, i usually make my own cd covers but if you are in the market for something not so boring check out these guys. personally i prefer the simpler designs. www.5inch.com

thought of the day

okay i haven't posted any personal work in a bit. i used to journal almost daily. i was never one to write long essays about the miseries of the world or how our government screwed up the last 8 years. somehow i always ended up drawing instead, mostly documenting a trip or an event, and usually happy. i also used to take a picture of the day and religiously write down the word of the day or even collect trash of the day.
my next few entries are from various journals...the first two were created in mendocino, california, a quaint little town where my mom teaches art classes every summer.
